Set up your own AI job search tracker

I built a website that searches for jobs every week, checks every posting is real and still open, and keeps a running list I rate as I go. Here’s how to build your own. No coding. About 15 minutes.

1. What you need

  • Claude on the Pro plan or higher (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise). Free can’t run things on a schedule, and that’s the part that makes this useful.
  • In Settings → Capabilities, turn on Web search and Code execution and file creation.

That’s it.

2. Setup

  1. Turn on the two settings above.
  2. Create a Project in Claude (Projects → New project). Name it anything.
  3. Open a new chat inside that project and paste Prompt A below. Don’t edit it — it interviews you.
  4. Answer its questions. Claude will then build your tracker website and give you the link.
  5. Go to Scheduled Tasks → New task → Create with Claude, and paste Prompt B below. Tell it your project’s name and set it to run weekly.
  6. Confirm the task. Done.

3. The prompts

Copy each one exactly.

Prompt A — paste in a new chat inside your project

Help me set up a weekly job search tracker. Do this in order:

1. Ask me, one at a time, waiting for each answer:
   - What roles am I looking for?
   - Which cities, countries, or "remote," in priority order?
   - What languages do I speak, at what level, and which are hard
     requirements versus nice to have?
   - My rough seniority (student, graduate, junior, a few years, etc.)?
   - Am I open to unpaid internships? (If no or no answer, skip them by
default from now on.) Any other deal-breakers — minimum salary, no
     relocation, sponsorship needed?

2. Publish a website (an Artifact with a database) that shows my results as
cards grouped by city, each with a Fit rating (Strong/Maybe/No), a Status
(Not applied/Applied/Interview/Offer/Rejected), and a notes box I can
type into — all saved automatically when I edit them. Give me the link.

3. Right now, search for real, live postings from the last 14 days matching
what I told you. Open every single posting and confirm it's real and
still open before adding it — never guess, and never include one you
didn't personally check. Add only genuine matches to the website.

4. Tell me how many you found and where, and say plainly if any of my
locations had nothing. Explain that rating roles on the website is what
makes next week's search better, so I should do it honestly.

Prompt B — paste when creating the Scheduled Task

Every time you run:

1. Open the website (Artifact) from [PASTE YOUR LINK HERE] and read every
entry, including my Fit ratings, Statuses, and notes.

2. If my ratings or notes show a pattern (several similar roles marked "No,"
or a note like "stop showing me X"), treat that as an update to what I
want, and say so in your summary to me.

3. Search for live postings matching my original criteria (see the site's
existing entries for roles, cities, languages). Open every posting and
confirm it's real and still open before including it. Never guess.

4. Skip anything already on the site. Add only genuinely new, verified
roles. Never change my existing Fit ratings, Statuses, or notes.

5. Message me a short summary: how many new roles, in which cities, and
which cities had nothing new. Say so plainly if nothing turned up
   anywhere.

4. What the first run looks like

Right after you answer Prompt A’s questions, Claude builds the site, searches immediately, and gives you the link with real results already on it. A week later, the Scheduled Task fires on its own and adds to the same site — you’ll get a short message, and the new entries will be there when you open it.

5. How to give feedback so it improves

On the website, rate each role (Strong/Maybe/No), update its status as you apply, and add notes in your own words. Every future run reads all of it before searching again — patterns in your ratings and notes are treated as real instructions, not just labels.

6. Rough time to set up

About 15 minutes: a couple of minutes for settings and the project, five to ten answering the interview, a few minutes creating the scheduled task. After that, a minute or two a week to check the site and rate what’s new.
